Citrus Heights, Sacramento County
The crossroads now called Citrus Heights was known as Sylvan until 1910, when a real estate company renamed it to help sell small farm lots. Orchards and poultry ranches lasted until the suburbs arrived in the 1950s. After years as an unincorporated district of Sacramento County, Citrus Heights became a city on January 1, 1997.
